15/07/2007

The double header week-end 14th/15th July saw a remarkable return to form for Wayne Poole Racing. In the Melton Concrete Products Castle Combe FF1600 race on the Saturday Josh Fisher finished a strong fourth overall (third & fastest lap in Class A) in the Mygale SJ01. Matt Devenish and Tom Margetson failed to finish after qualifying well while Pete Diccox came in a pleasing fifth in Class C in his Van Diemen RF89. Sunday saw the forecast torrential rain staying away and any sun around shining on the WPR squad. Josh Fisher finished a storming second overall just 1.48s behind race winner Ed Moore and took fastest lap. Meanwhile, team principal, Wayne Poole, having a rare outing in one of the team's Van Diemen RF89s and starting from the back of the grid, came home seventh overall, winning Class C and taking fastest lap in the class. Tom Margetson in his Reynard FF89 unfortunately failed to finish while Pete Diccox again saw the chequered flag finishing sixth in Class C.
