Poole extends championship lead at Combe
Wayne Poole (Van Diemen RF89) extended his class lead in the Motul Castle Combe FF1600 championship with two second place finishes in class. He was joined in the pair of Formula Ford races by Steve Bracegirdle (Van Diemen RF01) which saw them qualify 7th and 8th for both races and finishing both races in the same positions with Steve taking third in Class A both times.
Ben Heywood was out in the team's Mini Cooper S and finished the pair of Hot Hatch races in 20th and 14th places and coming third in Class E in the second race.
In the two Saloon Car championship races Wayne Rushworth (MG ZR180) qualified on Class C pole for both races (and an impressive 7th overall) ahead of anothe 9 MG ZR180s. A good start in race one saw Wayne running in fifth place overall for the opening five laps before dropping back and post a DNF. Race two was far more successful with Wayne finishing fourth overall and second in Class C. This left Wayne tied at the top of the championship table in Class C.
